Welcome to my happy place! My name is Liliana Aleman and I'm a 24 year old, artist, author of poetry, and lover of Jesus from Austin, Texas.
As An Artist
As an artist, the first thing I like to acknowledge is that I was created to create by my creator. God is the center of all my inspiration. He is in every idea, every thought, and every ability I have and am able to do. My creativity is a God given gift that has shaped me into who I am, as well as what guides the art I create today.
Through my work, I showcase the imaginative, challenging, joyful, and raw experiences of our everyday lives with a focus in portraiture and figure paintings. I aim to create bold and vibrant pieces that breathe life onto the canvas. On this journey, one of my main goals is to never let go of my passion, to pursue the tedious yet fulfilling creations from my mind and paint them into existence. I want to be able to convey the visions that bring me happiness in all kinds of colors, variations, and designs so as to inspire anyone else to never let their dreams go undone. In everything I create, I give all the glory to God. He is the reason I am able to capture the stories deep in my heart and turn them into something I believe is beautiful. It is my hope that my art will bring you as much joy in seeing it as I had in creating it and through it you would find a new sense of peace and understanding.

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." -Ephesians 2:10

As A Writer

As for writing, I self published my first book of poetry, What's Hidden Beneath, released October 20th of 2020. I took my passion for art and adding it to a collection of poems discussing topics relating to anxiety, love, family, and the search of understanding.
I want to point out though that these poems were written and released 5 years ago. I look back on many of these poems, still recognizing the deep rooted feelings back then, but find it hard to relate to them anymore. I was so young and hard on myself, grappling with a darkness I felt I only knew, and most importantly, I was living a life far from Jesus. Over the course of those years I found a transformation like no other. I began to see the true healing, comfort, and joy found in believing in Christ as your Lord and Savior. My life since then has been a living testimony of who God is and what He is capable of. He turned my darkness into light and since then, I have never been the same. The world is always changing, but the word of God stays the same forever.
Going forward, the work I create on my journey of faith is aimed to glorify God in all my ways. I have grown as an artist, in the way I think, in the way I create, and overall, who I am on the inside. It is my hope that through these poems you will know this is not who I am anymore, but it was who I once was. I pray you would read them, maybe resonate with them, feel seen and heard, knowing in your heart God is more than able to rescue you from deep waters, place you on solid ground, and set you free of the same things that kept me captive for so long. He offers a peace like no other and a hope to all who believe.
"For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light."-Micah 7:8
